Back to School Shopping is Always Tax-Free at Goodwill

ST LOUIS (July 2010) – Tax-Free Weekend (August 6-8, 2010 in MISSOURI ONLY) may only come once a year at the mall, but MERS/Goodwill is always tax-free and this year every student’s back-to-school needs can be met at prices perfect for any parent’s budget. Whether it’s clothing, backpacks, dorm room furnishings or school supplies, MERS/Goodwill offers parents and their students an easy alternative to crowded stores and malls with more than 40 retail locations in the bi-state area.

“MERS/Goodwill can outfit everyone from pre-school to college for a stylish return to school,” said Dr. Lewis Chartock, President and CEO of MERS/Goodwill. “Our customers find great savings on everything from gently used uniforms and athletic shoes to backpacks and lunch bags. If your children recently graduated earlier in the year, recycle and donate those un-used school items to your local Goodwill.”

Local Volunteer Group Helps Goodwill and Community

Local Volunteer Group Aids Community, Donates to Goodwill ~ Nearly 40 years of donations

The Catholic Heart Work Camp (CHWC), a St. Louis area organization dedicated to bringing together young volunteers and helping the community, recently worked with the St. Louis Area Agency on Aging to help Dorris Miller clean her home and make her first donation in nearly 40 years.

MERS/Goodwill sent a truck for pick-up to Dorris' home and the CHWC volunteers loaded it to the brim. We thank Dorris and the CHWC for their service to the community!

Pictured above are a few of the volunteers with Dorris in front of a MERS/Goodwill Donation truck.
