Stories From Shoppers

“I just love goodwill. It’s a good place to shop. When my mom filed bankruptcy, we couldn’t even afford food. Some nights, I would have to skip meals and that was often a few times a week. When I showed her the Goodwill store by my friend’s house, we have been shopping there ever since. We buy clothes there and then when I out grow them we send them right on back. She calls it recycling. Thank you so much goodwill. You practically saved my life.” ~ Anonymous

Although stories like these can be hard to hear, it speaks to our mission: “To provide opportunities for persons with barriers to employment to work and live more independently in the community.” We know that not everyone is in a position where they can buy all of their clothing and housewares brand new. We also know that many people wish to “recycle”, as this person calls it, their used items for others to have. We get feedback from donors and shoppers alike that enjoy our stores, and we would love to hear from you.
